The South Asian Mobile Content Conference 2010


About 25 high-level speakers around the world shared  their views and strategic considerations at the South Asian Mobile Content Conference 2010 that was held at Colombo Taj Samudra Hotel on 10th instant.  The topics dealt with  at this first ever South Asian Mobile Content Conference 2010  included Mobile Content Market Trends and Development, Mobile Applications, Enabling Rich Content to Mobile Consumers, Mobile Content Marketing and Revenue Modules in the Mobile Applications.The Chief Guest was Professor Tissa Vitarana, Hon. Minister of Technology and Research.


The keynote address was  delivered by Mobile Monday  founder Jari Tammisto of Finland who has much to offer including the fund of  experiences  from different Mobile Mondays worldwide.

Currently  Tammisto is also the CEO of Mobile Monday Finland. The origin and expansion of Mobile Monday under the able leadership of Tammisto testifies to the keynote speaker’s calibre.   Jari Tammisto led a group of Finnish visionaries in inviting the who’s who of the Finnish mobile industry to a pub for an informal get-together in the autumn of 2000. The meeting was held. After meeting many new faces and discussing the latest in mobility, the group decided to continue meeting on the first Monday of each month — and thus, MobileMonday was born.Towards the end of 2004, Mobile Monday started to spread to other areas of the world and new MoMo chapters were started in Tokyo, Japan, Silicon Valley, UsA as well as Rome and Milan, Italy. Since then, the number of Mobile Monday chapters and members has dramatically increased making Mobile Monday the world’s leading mobile community. Mobile Monday International  launched its first chapter in Sri Lanka, Mobile Monday on  April 23, this year.
